Hello:
We are presently upgrading our Nortel Networks Contivity Client v2.62 to v4.65. In v2.62 I would give the User Admin rights then install the client then remove the Admin rights from the User and they were able to access the VPN with no issues. Now, I do the same thing with the new version and it does not work. I can install the client just fine, but when I remove Admin permissions from the User they can't launch the VPN Client. They get the following error: "Logon Failure: due to driver Failure." A VPN Engineer associated with the app that were are trying to connect to told me that I have to assign all Users on my network Admin rights in order to use the new version. You know as well as I do that if we give everyone Admin rights, life will be over. Has anyone had this issue, am I installing the new version incorrectly.

Many thanks in advance,
Woods

Wood,

Am getting ready to push 4.65 out to replace 4.60. Looking through the release notes for 4.65, the only time you need admin rights is to install the client software on the machine. As far as assigning all network users admin rights. NO. He probably meant to set the users up as an administrator on the local machine. That's how we do it and I haven't had any issues with the install or getting the client to work.
Is this what you are doing?
Logging in as admin and giving user xyz admin rights to the machine. Then logging out as admin and back in as user xyz and installing client. Then removing admin privledges and logging back in as user xyz.

4.65 requires that the User has Local Admin Rights to run. This is fixed in 4.65.26.
