I am trying to push out an install of a remote agent to one of my windows 2000 domain controllers. Every time I try, it gets to the install, asks me for credentials, I put in domain admin and it comes back telling me the username/password is wrong? This server used to run BE 8.6 as well as Exchange 2000 and the exchange agent, those are all uninstalled though.

Any ideas?

Therein lies your problem. If you've installed BE8.6, uninstalled it and want to use the server as a remote agent, it doesn't like it.

There's a technote on the Veritas site if you key in the error and I think its a reghack to remove the relevant key. Then it works fine.

On a simpler note are you putting the domain\admin then the password, don;t know if this will help but I seem to remember that the actual domain needs to be specified in the logon

Cheers

1. put backup exec cd in remote machine drive
2. browse cd to folder \ntaa
3. run setupaa.cmd

this installs the remote agent
check services,
it should be installed and started
