Unable to install MSDE 1.0

Greetings!
I try to install MSDE on an notebook using Windows 2000.
But my problem is, after completing certain amount of work the installation process simply "Roll back" everything
without giving any error or warning messages.
The Server service is active and running on this notebook.

Perhaps you can help me

Do you have SQL Server 2000 already installed on the notebook?

No, i don't.
I am not sure for myself, but I think that SQL Server 2000 was also not installed on the Notebook previously.

Is or was the notebook connected to a Novell network?

The other thing you can try is checking the registry to make sure that MSDE (SQL Server - same thing) was not previously installed.
