When selected the ArcServe 2000 backup agent for SQL it gives the error saying "Setup cannot continue. There is no Microsoft SQL server installed on this machine"... even though SQL server is running on the machine..... and also the MSSQL Server service is Running....

Please Suggest....

Extract SP4, and use the SQL.dba\setup.exe to install the agent.

I have SP4 installed and when i run c:\SQL.dba\setup.exe the setup screen flashes and disappears. I get the same error "SQL not installed" when i try to install off the cd. i'm not sure if the sp3 in the first reply was a typo, am i supposed to run sp3 first and sp4? Can you give some clarification.
Thanks,
Trent

Extract SP3 and run setup.exe from the SQL.DBA folder ...

Then apply SP4

This will work..

Is there supposed to be an "SQL.DBA" folder created when extracting SP3.exe? The only SQL.DBA folder i have on the machine is in the sp4 folder (C:\AS2000SP4\SQL.DBA). If i remove SP4 contents, extract SP3, there is no SQL.DBA folder on the machine. So i extracted SP4 and ran the setup.exe from the SQL.DBA folder, but it just flashes and disappears. Any ideas or do you know what/if i'm doing anything wrong?
Thanks-
Trent
