unable to install 8i client on pentium 4 PC 1

There is a DLL that pentium 4 machines use that needs to be changed for the 8i client to install. I had it once but, lost the name and location of that DLL file. Please help

Is it symcjit.dll?

I heard it needs to download and install a patch for pentium 4 server to install oracle 8i. Hopefully this will help.

try this:copy Cd to disk,download JRE 122 and copy its symcjit.dll( 410K) to replace the one already in the installation directory( 2 separate locations).you also need to copy jvm.dll to C:\winnt.then run the setup from Win32 instead of Install.PLs let me know if you have more problems
