unable to initialize remote agent

For security purposes, I had to change all admin passwords to our NT/2000 servers. As a precaution, I uninstalled the agents, rebooted and pushed them back onto the servers using the new passwords. Now I get the 'unable to initialize remote agent - performing standard backup' message whenever a backup job starts. I have stopped and started all services on clients and backup server. What could I have missed??

isnt there some kind of log file/database where BE gets its saved list of passwords for each machine / domain. You could try and connect to the machines within Backup Exec and use the ' Attach As..' option - put in the new password.. it should overwrite the old password
