I have read a lot of threads about this problem, none of the solutions to which have helped!! I was happily importing mpegs into AE this morning, and then suddenly, and for no apparent reason, I was no longer able to do so. As far as I am aware, it is nothing to do with my hardware as, like i said, I was happily importing the same files earlier in the day.
Now, everytime i try to import these certain mpegs (all other file types that i have tryed work fine) AE freezes up, then a message appears telling me that after effects is "sorry, but after effects has crashed. For more information go to........ (0::42)".
Since this happened, I have tryed reinstalling AE (didnt work), removing the OpenGL3D files from the plugins/standard/extensions folder (didnt work), rolling back GFX card driver (I am running an nVidia GFX card) didnt work, and have tryed opening the files from various different folders (didnt work).
I am now extremely frustrated and totally stumped. any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
