Unable to import a folder of files into a container field

I'm trying to import a folder of pdf's into FP7 on Windows XP machine. I can easily import a folder of jpg's with no problem. I start with an empty database with no fields created. When the "Import Field Mapping" dialog box pops up, I create the fields and set the import action.

But when I attempt to import a folder of pdf's or .doc files, there is a long wait (several minutes) and then no dialog box pops up. I get an error message -

"No files of the specified type were found in the specified folder."

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is the answer or not but I know in the version I'm using containers can only contain

-graphics, movies, photos, bitmaps, sounds
-multimedia file types supported by QuickTime 3.0 or later
-OLE objects (Windows only)

Now those might fall under OLE objects but I'm not sure that it can handle multiple objects in one field.

I have limited access to 7 and have only used container fields for images myself so I may be off on this one.

Thanks acantho. FM7 is supposed to be able to import *ANY* type of file into a container field - at lease according to what I read...

Are you trying to import the folder OR the files in the folder?
Not that it would make any difference but you know how picky computers can be.

And again, it might be able to take *any* type of file but maybe not multiple copies of them.

I'll look into it and if I find out anything I'll let you know.

I am trying to import a folder full of files - pdf files to be exact. Each file has a different name. I am trying to import them exactly the same way you would import a folder of jpg's, which I can do successfully.
