Hello all...
This is a real mystery. I am attempting to collect MIB data on several Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Servers (NT 4 O/S). I have listed all the Exchange servers in my /etc/hosts file and also in a seed/source file that HP OV NNM 6.1 uses (versus listing all the servers individually). The spelling of the hostnames in the file have been confirmed and have been tested via ping commands. Several of the servers return the private mib I need (MtaWorkQueueLength) with no problem. However, other servers are not reporting values to the mib collection. I have tested that MIB collections via the MIB Browser tool and they are good. A value is returned for the requested MIB object and the graphing works. But some of the servers that work via the Mib Browser do not show up in the data collection and threshold tool graphs or snmpCollect files. I have even modified the SNMP Configuration to add the hostname, community strings, increased the timeout and retries, with no chance in reporting. I have stopped and restarted the snmpCollect daemon. Can anyone provide some insight.... thanks.... Greg Bryant
