Unable to go into the devices section without the tape engine stopping

Hi

I am getting a problem when trying to go into the devices section on a particular server in Arcserve. When I do go into devices, the tape engine just stops and I cannot start it unless I come out of devices!

Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?

Hi,

Are we talking about Arcserve 2000 here?

If so, firstly, apply the lastest tape engine update -

http://support.ca.com/Download/patches/asitnt/QO39924.html

Then, if the problem still persists, stop the engine and delete the following registry key-
HKLM / SOFTWARE / COMPUTERASSOCIATES / ARCSERVEIT / BASE / TAPEENGINE.
Close regedit and re-start the tape engine.
If you are using a library, re-run the library configuration wizard.

1-delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ComputerAssociates\Base\TapeEngine then Try to run Device Configuration and reconfigure
your Tape drive/Library
