I am unable to give a user admin rights...can someone tell me how to do that via command line and/or via GUI in Networker

nsraddadmin -u user [-s server]

should do the job. Unfortunately, it is not available for old NW versions (pre 7.4?).

Thanks..

I have tried this

nsraddadmin -u user=" ",host=" "

and successfully got added to the Admin list

================
But i added a test user that i want to use to change passwords for other users...but the option for that is greyed out

1-Is this supported in 7.4(does it have an affect)
2-Can an account change the permissions for other accounts,if the account we are logged in as is on the admin list but not the administrator account

I have tried this but the information is greyed out

Hhm,
i would have used '*@*'.

Unfortunately, i do not remember since when this command exists.

In general NW has its own independant user & security system. So a NW admin must not necessarily be an OS admin.

The networker is funtioning well

no OS or NSR admin issues

I want to create a new user that can have admin previlages(the orevilege to change other user previlages)

but i am unable to do so even after including it in the admin list

You must do this from NMC > Setup > Roles.
Just make sure to add the new admin account to the 'Console * Administrator' Roles.

can you guide me to a document that has this in detail??

Has this to be done in a new install or can i use it in the current scenario with multiple backup servers in my environment and multiple users with different previleges

As you specify this from the top level (NMC) not with NW Administrator, it should be valid for all data zones.
See attachment.

Attachment not of any use, can you try to sent me a url

Thanks

Networker 7.4 does not have this feature

we can do this under setup>>users and roles>>roles

does not happen via command line as users are a part of the Java application
