"OFO: Unable to get minimum quiet time window for physical volume.
OFO: Initialization failure on: "\\SERVERNAME\D$"
Backup Exec failed with this message. Not sure what this means. Any thoughts? Thanks!

I ran across the answer:

To troubleshoot the cause of the OFO quiet time message, follow these steps:

1. Create a backup job of only the drive that reported the OFO message and select "Use Open File Option if available" from the backup jobs Advanced tab.
2. Run the backup job. When the job starts, the job will appear to hang. In reality, OFO is trying to establish a "quiet time" for the drive being backed up. By default, OFO will try for 2000 seconds (33.3 minutes) to establish 5 seconds of quiet time.
3. On the computer being backed up, stop each 3rd party service (one service at a time). After stopping each 3rd party service, wait 30 seconds before stopping the next 3rd party service. During each 30 seconds, examine Backup Exec to determine if the job is still hung or if the backup job started to backup data. If the backup job starts backing up data, then the last 3rd party service that was stopped caused the OFO quiet time message.

After determining the cause of the OFO quiet time message, try to decrease the quiet time required by OFO. After changing the registry keys listed below, follow the troubleshooting steps listed below. If OFO is able to establish a minimum quiet time, Backup Exec will not appear to hang.

On the Backup Exec computer

1. If using Backup Exec for Windows NT v7.x, stop the OFO service VncSnapshot in Control Panel | Services.
2. In Control Panel | Services, stop all the Backup Exec services.
3. Start "*Regedt32.exe".
4. Locate and double-click the following registry key:

Registry Key (Backup Exec v8.x): /HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/VERITAS/Open File Option/Config/MinQuietTime
Registry Key (Backup Exec v7.3): /HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Vinca/Shapshot/Config/MinQuietTime
Registry Key (Backup Exec v7.2): /HKEY_Local_Machine/Software/Seagate Software/Backup Exec/Engine/Backup/OFO Minimum Quiet Time

5. Change the Radix to Decimal.
6. Decrease the value to the number of seconds that Open File Option (OFO) should wait for disk inactivity.
7. Select the "OK" button.
8. Exit "Regedt32.exe".
9. If using Backup Exec for Windows NT v7.x, start the OFO service VncSnapshot in Control Panel | Services.
10. Restart all the Backup Exec services.
