Unable to get in design mode

My client has a database that has security on it and a form that appears on the startup.

The problem is this. Most of the time he is able to get in the design mode by holding the shift key down and clicking on the database. But this one database he has does not do it successfully anytime. Is there a fool-proof method that he can get into the design mode of the database without worrying about security. A backdoor method perhaps?

Thanks!

Ralph,

Two things: one, if the file is an MDE, as opposed to an MDB you won't be able to get into design mode--it's simply not possible. Two: it's possible to disable the shift-Start functionality, and unless you know how the method the programmer used to do this (and the back door the programmer left open), you won't be able to get in.

Hmm. On the other hand, if you know the administrator's username and pwd, you should be able to create a new database (using the same mdw) and then import everything. I think.
