I have numerous MS Querues through ODBC setup from XP or other 32 Bit clients all of which work fine.

None of these queries work on either Windows 7 or Server 2008.

I get the following errors:

Unable to get data item Dict Name: USER

[Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

Can anyone assist?

Thanks

Hi,

What DB/Server is your ODBC Driver configured for?

What is your Connection String?

Hi,

It's configured for a SQL Server 2000.

The Connection string is below - I hope this is what you mean

SELECT F0911.GLAA, F0911.GLANI, F0911.GLDCT, F0911.GLDOC, F0911.GLEXA, F0911.GLEXR, F0911.GLSBL
FROM PD7333.F0911 F0911
WHERE (F0911.GLANI Like '%121080%') AND (F0911.GLDGJ>{ts '2011-09-30 00:00:00'} And F0911.GLDGJ<{ts '2011-11-01 00:00:00'}) AND (F0911.GLSBL<>')
ORDER BY F0911.GLSBL

Thanks

Tha is your SQL or Commmand string, not your Connection string -- how you CONNECT to your server.

What application are your numerous queries in?

What version Excel?

You ought to be able to right-click in the resultset and select table or query and then External data properties.

In this window, one of the tabs, you may find your connection string. Hunt.

Connection string, Excel 2007:

DSN=Versions - PD7333;Description=Versions - PD7333;UID=JDE;PWD=pwd;APP=2007 Microsoft Office system;WSID=IEDUBRDS02;DATABASE=JDE_PD7333;AutoTranslate=No;UseProcForPrepare=0

When you state, "None of these queries work on either Windows 7 or Server 2008.", is that on YOUR PC or someone elses?

Doesnt work on my client (Windows 7) or a W2008 TS.

All the DSN's exist on my client and I can test the source in ODBCAD32 - I've imported the .reg file onto the server so the DSN's exist in the list of Systen DSN's

When I try and refresh the query on either client or Terminal Server I get the same error.

Is there an easy way to change the connection string to point at a working DSN and if so, how can I check what the exact name of this DSN is? I/e the name & description is 'Business Data - PROD'
