Unable to find title code

We have had a web site built by a third party that we have now taken over, the site has been mainly coded in php.

The problem is that if you look at the source for the index page online i.e. in internet explorer goto view source you can see the code 6-7 lines. but if you use Dreamweaver to edit the site I cant find that page to edit the title or anything else.

in dreamweaver we did a find and replace in order to chage the title to what we want but we could not see the code.

We are looking to change the tags on that index page so that we are searchable by search engines, but we cant edit it.

Look at the source view for the individual frames. The file names are shown in the source of the home page
