Unable to find media

Hello,
We have WIndows NT4 running ArcservIT Workgroup edition.
On the server w have a Sony SDT9000 SCSI II DAT Rive with a DAT cartridge (formatted).

When trying to run any backup job, it is displaying the error W3828 Unable to find this media or blank media. The media group contains the device, I can see the log stating that it is to be backed up to the group. But after it has abhcked up the catalog files (0.25 MB) it wont go any further. IIt displays a dialog box stating - please insert a blank tape or media.

Ive formatted the tape, deleted and created a new group ans associated the device again, with no luck.

Does anybody know what Im doing wrong.

In the device Manager, can you see that there is truly a blank tape loaded. Check your device configuraton once again.

Could be your Arcserve database is corrupted and can't see the tapes correctly. I would recommend you delete the database files and repair arcserve and see if that works. Make a note that if you do this, you will have to merge any previous backup jobs back into the database afterwards if you want to restore from them...
