Unable to find media // need to inventory / mount?

Hi there

Using arcserve 2000 sp4 with sql / exchange / open file agents all sp4 also

Basically I have 8 slots in my DLT machine

I have set up grouping where group0 is slots 1-4 and group1 is slots 5-8

group0 is for daily backup rotations of exchange and home directories etc. group1 is for a weekly archive.

The problem I am getting is "cannot find media name" this always seems to be on group1 though. For daily I can literally just change the DLT tapes.

Do I need to do an inventory EVERY time I swap the tapes over. The backup options are set to write to media with same name, then any media.

Any help most appreciated

Here is the exact error message:

E6500 CLient connect to tape failed

C3703 Unable to open media (MEDIA=arch1, EC=TAPE NOT FOUND)

As I said this is only for the second grouping.

More the point is should I just be able to swap tapes daily, or should I need to doing inventory/mount/dismount etc
