Hi folks,
I'm new to ARCServe, so I'm easily stumped.

I've installed Version 11, created my first backup job, and I get the following error message multiple times in my job log:

W3823
Unable to find media. (MEDIA=THURSDAY, ID=1beb, SEQ=1)

I'm reusing some leftover tape media (but it's in excellent condition), and the software is installed on a Windows Server 2003 member server.

I "think" I'm getting this error because someone has created a media set...but I'm not sure. I want ARCServe to completely overwrite whatever media it finds in the tape drive, and ignore any errors if possible.

Suggestions???

Thank you,
Ed

There are a number of possiblities depending on the details which were not provided.

So the quick easy answer is to just erase the tapes. This only needs to be done one time, after that ARCserve will take care of it.

It is a good idea if you read the ARCserve Admin guide.
Also here is the support page for 11.1
and 11.5

both are provided since that detail was left out. In general when seaking help the more details the better.
