Unable to enter "Recurring ToDo's" in Sidekick 99

I've just upgraded to SK99 (from SK98 which I upgraded from SK95). I cannot create "Recurring ToDo's" under SK99. When I right-click on a line in the "ToDo's" the "Recurring" command is greyed out and I can't find any other commands that would allow me to create recurring "ToDo's". (The "Recurring" function works fine in the "Events" section of SK99.) Interestingly SK99 displays the future "Recurring ToDo's" that I created with SK98--but SK99's TrueSynch will not synch these "Recurring ToDo's" that I created with SK98.

I am running Win98 and TrueSynch with a Palm Vx. I basically live my personal and professional life through Sidekick and would therefore appreciate any and all advice with this problem. I find "Recurring ToDo's" to be a VERY helpful feature.

James33, thank you for quick reply. Unfortunately, there is no help in the "discontinued software" section of the Starfish Website. There is one Q&A about ToDo's not forwarding--but that's a different problem from my recurring ToDo's problem.
Also, I forget to put this into my original posting: I'm running the upgraded version of SK99--v. 6.01.

Dear Gyula,
I don't have 99 (the download) at home but I will check tomorrow at work..
Though I believe that is the earlier model? or is it??
I'll check the version number.

Dear Gyula
Check: Calendar|Events|Recurring

I am running the same version 6.01 and I particularly like the idea in the recurring todo's that you can delete all instances of recurring ToDo's or a range of them
Good Luck
Jim

James33,
Again thanks for the quick replies.

Please note that the problem is NOT with Calendar|Events|Recurring--this works fine on mine too. I also very much appreciate the ability to (in SK99) remove selected recurring items. Note this is in the regular calendar function on the right-hand side of the Sidekick screen. My problem is with not being able to create recurring ToDo's--on the left-hand side of the screen. I was able to do this in SK98 but in SK99, when I right click on one of lines under "ToDo", the Recurring command comes up--but it is greyed out and, of course, nothing happens when I click on it.

To sum up: I need help in how do I enter recurring ToDo's in SK99.

Sorry,
I sometimes don't read the question completely.
It is the same with my version of Sdk99 there is no way to add a ToDo from the Right-Click menu,
(At a guess I imagine they did not bother to change the menu when they removed the function but as the options at different areas of the screen are different it was easier to Grey it out.)
Is it the same with Calls too? I left work before I checked in here.
That could explain why the old Todo's appear but can you edit them? if you can't then ?

You will notice in Sdk98 that on the RH of the screen you got Edit Group Events but they removed it altogether from the menu for ToDo's and Calls.
I presume it was easier to disable recurring than to remove the reference when they cut down 99.
If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
Regards Jim

James 33,

1. Yes, in SK99 you can edit "recurring ToDo's" created in SK98.

2. I've never used "Calls" in any of my version of SK. I've simply stretched "ToDo" to cover whole left-hand screen and use it to list both "calls" and "todo's".

Again thanks for quick reply.

I ALSO WOULD HOPE THAT SOMEONE OR ONES OUT THERE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP WITH THE "RECURRING TODO'S" PROBLEM/MYSTERY.

I have a problem deleting recurring events. They don't show up under the option were it can be changed
or deleted, but they still show in the calendar.

Dear waltraud1,
What version of Sidekick are you using?
SK99 has this option as we have seen from above (But only for Appointments, not ToDo's)
In SK98 AFAIK once they have been added as recurring events you have to edit each one individually! Regards Jim

Dear Gyula,

I am living in Turkey and we are using some special Turkish
characters (letter) and I am not seeing the Turkish characters in Sidekick.
Sidekick has writing for only English Like Adobe. did you test to write the to-do with only English.

Dear james33,
thank you for your reply. I'm using sidekick98 and WinXP home editon. The recurring events I'm trying to get rid off are old and don't show up under 'calendar-events-recurring' where I could delete them. They were there before I changed computers and re-installed/copied SK98 on the new computer. Any new events/entries I have added can be changed +/or deleted, as it should be. But the old entries show up only on the calendar and I can only delete them from there individually and of course they show up next month again. The point is I want them to be gone and not continue to show up. - help
Thank you, Waltraud

I hope that someone can help me.
I have been running SK98 because of the recurring todo's which are soo important to me.
However today, SK98 has stopped working, it gets a GPF in user.exe (which is in a windows folder.
My OS os win98se.

Dear jhugdahl,
Post this as a new thread, as it will be seen easier and I will answer it there.
