Unable to download .exe's

Any idea why I cannot download exe's have looked at cookies.

Any help appreciated.

Download from what application? IE? Outlook?...

Sorry , Internet Explorer 5.5,

I have applied the latest Windows 98 security updates and now it will not open any links to file downloads, the file download dialog box open but nothing happens. Internet browsing is ik though??

if you have any anti-virus installed and if it's set to scan automatically all files (that includes .exe's), you may have downloaded the file but your av might have automatically quarantined it cuz the file is probably a virus.

have you tried downloading any other exe files? try dl'ing winzip9 and see if it saves to your hd.
