I am running W2K server with Arcserve 2000 Advanced Server Edition. All patches for SP1 & SP2 are loaded as well as the Backup Exchange Agent and upgrade for SP2. Connects with Exchange Database Agent but then the following errors occur: E8552, Failed to receive data from the Exchange database agent (EC=10054), E8553, Failed to send data to the Exchange database agent (EC=10054), E8563, Failed to send data to the database agent (EC=10054). Unable to find documentation on E8552; E8553 or E8563. I do find information on EC=10054 as follows:
E8522 - Failed to receive/send data, ec = 10060 or 10054 ' error is experienced using any agent.
The 10060 and 10054 errors are general Winsock errors that basically point to communications issues between two computers. The agents package the information to be backed up on the remote machine and push it across the network. To test the underlying TCP/IP protocol and the communications path, ping the ARCserve server continuously with at least a 1024 byte packet size. To do so, at a command prompt type:
ping -l 1024 [ip address] -t.
If the ping command times out, troubleshoot networking issues
Guess what no time out, no problems, no burps. So whats next? Anyone have any ideas?
Frustrated with this product have not been able to get a backup brick layer yet, and have been working on it for a long while
