Hi

This is weird. I haven't done anything to my system, other than tossing away all the cookies in the temp folder. Anyhow, my problem is this:

If I connect to the net via Outlook express, get my mail and exit out of the window, a little prompt with a modem icon asks if I want to disconnect or stay connected. This is fine. However, as soon as I launch IE and exit that window, the prompt is no longer there. So, either, I have to relaunch Outlook, close it, in order to get the little prompt box or restart my machine all together.

It never was like this. I always had the "stay connected or disconnect" prompt in the background with both applications.
I know I can click automatic disconnect, but I like the manual. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
DanH

danielh68,

Have you ever installed Bearshare? This link provides some info about what you describe.
There are other apps which can contribute so also check the further information on the link. LimeWire, Kazaa, BonziBuddy are all basically spyware. Check out AdAware from LavaSoft to remove these pests.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Old Man. Actually it turned out to be a virus. Everything slowed down...closing browser windows, etc. It didn't affect my overall system, just Outlook and IE. It's gone now. Thanks, again!
