Unable to disable Cookies on IE6.0

I have tried going to Internet Options - Privacy - Advanced and selected the "Block" for first and third part cookies, but still when I run my app with a javascript to check whether cookies are enabled or not, it tells me that cookies are enabled. Is there something that I am missing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tools > Internet Options > Privacy tab > choose the slider level that suits your needs. You can also tweak it with the Advanced button below the slider.

I tried that too. Tools - Internet Options - Privacy - Move the slider to Block All Cookies. But still it seems to be not working. I have seen various posts on this same issue, but have not seen anyone responding. Can someone who has seen similar behaviour and was able to correct it, respond?
