I have a user that get's this NDR when he sends to uses on the same domain but on a different exchange box. It only happens sometimes and I'm not sure why. Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Unable to deliver the message due to a communications failure

Check your logs it should give you a reason why the message was rejected. The NDR should also give you an error number whenever they receive the message. It could be a temporary connection problem. Then you could run perfmon and find the lag in your network.
If anyone calls and says "I know a little something about computers" just tell them to reformat it.
