Problem Description:Tried to delete a desktop user from the Symposium user list and received the following error: Failed to delete desktop. Security Server Error. Please contact your Administrator.

Moved him out of the admin group into a display group and locked his account and retried. Same error. Each time I tried to delete, got a Minor error in the Alarm Monitor.

I checked the access class for the AdminGroup and the level of access for Users is Edit all users and create any type. Tried to create a new access class and the level of access for Users does not include an option to delete.

40836 - Delete PC user error -1. Severity Minor. Impact Not Applicable. Recovery Action - Note any error codes and contact your Nortel product distributor.
40829 - Delete blue user error -1. Severity Minor. Impact Not Applicable. Recovery Action - Note any error codes and contact your Nortel product distributor.

Are we required to contact our distributor to delete users from SCCS?

No, you have a problem with your server. If it is possible to reboot, you might try that and see if that clears the problem up.

I was also unable to delete a script last week and a reboot was suggested for that as well. I have a scheduled reboot for this Sunday, I'll see if this will fix it.

I have noticed that if I remove scripts from the master script I cant deactivate or delete them for at least an hour. I think the server must keep a record in cache.

hello LittleGremlings

We have the same problem on our server. i have installed su11 and rebooted ther server, but the problem still exist...
i will open a case by nortel...

best regards

We also have another desktop user that is not logged in anywhere, however, the profile status is logged in. I checked the connected sessions, and they are not listed as connected.

We are hopeful that the reboot this Sunday will reset this account as well.

We found that the desktop user had scheduled tasks under his profile. Once these were deleted, we were able to delete the profile.

Hail to the gremlin, never thought of looking under scheduled tasks. Now I've deleted the user that left 5 months ago !
