unable to create temporary work files

HI All,

I encountered this problem and I suspect that the problem lies with the file format (8.3). Please share your experiences and solution/s.

Vfox 9.0 on Novell 4.11 with only short file name (8.3, DOS).

I created a dbf table on WinXp and on a Novell 6.5 with long file name. I have no problem modi stru (add,del) but when I copied to my novell 4.11, I performed a modi stru, the vfox9 will prompt 'unable to create temporary work file, and the dbf structure is unchanged, although I have sufficient disk space and the correct access right.

Have you tried adding long file names to your Novell 4.11 server? It's been a while but I think the commands are:

LOAD LONG
ADD NAME SPACE LONG TO VOLUME "VOLNAME"

Where "VOLNAME" is the name of your volume without quotes.
