We have a Sco 5.0.7 box on our network. For some stupid reason I cannot access the Internet from this UNIX box.

Is there anything that I am missing?

I did notice that in the TCP/IP settings that the Gateway is checked as NO...could that be the problem and is there anything else that I should check?

This server is on our network and I can ping the gateway from this server...

Thanks!

what does the routing table look like?

netstat -nr

you may need to add a default route

route add default IP.OF.THE.GATEWAY

and add a DNS entry in /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver=IP.OF.THE.NAMESERVER

man SFF tcp
man SFF resolver

Hope This Helps, PH.

STANHUBBLE,

I checked the routing table and their is already an entry for the gateway but it is incorrect...what is the best way to modify this entry?

THanks!

go to scoamdin
select networks
select Client manager
see if Default route is listed, if it is, select it then press enter, change the number then exit.

If Default route is not listed, then the route was entered manually, peharbs under /etc/rc.d directory.

Joe
