I have recently installed BUE8.6 on one of my new servers. I have BUE on two other servers across the network and am able to do a connect to media server without any problems.

The problem I have is that I am unable to see the drives, folders and shares on remote servers that have the remote agent on them from the new server.

If I do an attach as, it accepts my login but does not change what I can see. I am unable to drill down past the server name, but if I go to my other BUE servers I can.

Any help would be welcome.

Cheers,

Pete.

Check Help|About Backup Exec for the presence of a Remote Agent for NT/2000 license serial #. If it ain't there, you ain't gonna see anything available for remote computers running a server level OS like Windows 2000 Server or NT4.0 Server.

Have fun!

Hey Pete,

I had a similar problem, so after wondering what could be going wrong I decided to go out on a limb and put a manual entry in my hosts file located in c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc for ther server. After making the entry I was able to list the folders drives and the rest of the goodies :p Hope it helps.
