Unable to connect to internal web page on the server

I am unable to bring up the internal web page on the server as well as the Symantec system console which is accessed via a web interface. I can not even while physically on the server get to the internet. As well as not being able to startup the control panel.

This all started after an security update was installed and the server was rebooted. Since then I have placed the server in safe mode, which allowed me access to the control panel and removed that update, but once I log in normally all the same junk happens.

Can anyone help me out in this?

boot into safe mode and examine that update u did...

Have you tried going through IE and setting up hte connection again? Maybe this was changed when the update was installed? I assume you are able to still get on the network, just not use IE
