Since I updated to version 10.0.586 I am no longer able to use hyper-v.
I had hyper-v up and running but now when I try to connect throgh the Hyper-v manager I get this:

"An error occurred while attempting to connect to server xxxxx. Check that the Virtual Machine Management service is running and that you are authorized to connect to the server."

Service is running and I am a member of administrators as well as hyper-v administrators.

Anyone having the same problem ??

You could try unchecking Hyper-V via Control Panel/ Programs and Features/ Turn Windows Features on or off/ Hyper-V. This will uninstall it. You then reboot and then reverse the steps to reinstall it. Keep any .vhd files that you require safe, it is only the VM Machine that is uninstalled and then reinstalled by the process.

Thank you linney for replying.
Unfortunately none of your suggestions helped.

Any other suggestions are most welcome.

This covers the whole gambit of other virtual machines in Windows. Of course you will need a licensed copy of Windows to install and run in any of them.

VirtualBox is an impressive VM contender

Thank you once again linney.
Unfortunatly none of the listed suggestions worked, or are n/a.
I ran cleanmgr before I observed the problem, so there is no going back :-(
I guess I´ll have to reinstall W10 to get things working again.

Reboot and access the BIOS. Make sure the setting for Virtualization (likely under CPU settings) is turned on.

I didn't see that suggestion listed in the links linney provided above. I understand it was working at one point, but perhaps this setting was changed somehow along the way. If that isn't it, here's the thread I plucked it from. Maybe you can sift through some of the other suggestions:
