unable to connect to database

i realized that there is a Connect to Database option under the tools menu. so i clicked on it and filled out all the necessary information required. then i did test connections and it was successful. however when i clicked on ok i got this message.

"Unable to connect to database. It is only possible to connect to SQL server DesktopEngine databases and MSAccess databases with version of Visual Studio."

The Development environment is 7.1.3088 and the .NET framework version is 1.1.4322
