Hi

We are using pervasive 7.5 database. I can setup database on server with proper ODBC connections and open a new company. ACCPAC is working fine on server. After creating an odbc connection on a client the ODBC Connection is working fine but when I am activation ACCPAC and trying to open a company it is givng error "unable to connect to database error=2". Any body having any idea please help.
The tranaction test is woring ok.
Thanks
ZAB

Accpac version?
Pervasive version? I'm not sure there is/was a 7.5, so open a command prompt on the server and enter BUTIL -VER

Your Accpac data path is most likely pointing to a local drive letter, change it to UNC.

Just FYI, PSQL v7.5 is also known as PSQL 2000. It was the original release of the PSQL 2000 line. PSQL 2000 SP1 was 7.51, SP2 was 7.82, SP3 was 7.90, and SP4 was 7.94.
I can't speak for the Accpac error.

Accpac 5.4 and 5.5 are the only versions that require you to setup ODBC connections, if you are using one of these versions then you need to upgrade your Pervasive since neither will work with P2000.

Hi
Thanks for the reply.

The ACCPAC Ver is 5.4

Pervasive Ver is 8.70.014.3 (My apologies for mentioning Pervasive ver as 7.5)

How can we point to server drive at UNC
Thanks
Zab

Open PCC
Either right-click the database and select Properties, or
right-click Configuration and select Modify Named Database (or something like that). I do not have P8.7 running, so I cannot check on that.
Anyway, you want to change the Dictionary Location as well as the Data Directories to use UNC.

Hi,

I suddenly got an error during database connection as follows :-

unable to connect to the database (error=100)

The ODBC connection is working fine. only while running the ACCPAC 5.4 Application, it cannot connect to the Pervasive database. Any idea please what does error=100 means.

Thanks

Zab

Next time, don't hijack a thread, you're not getting the same error as the subject.

Error 100 is unusual, the suggestions from other forums are to reinstall Pervasive.
