I am trying to connect to access data with connection object.Every time when i restart the system, i have to reinstall front page server extensions.(version 3.0.2.1706).I downloaded the latest version from net.Even then it's giving the same error("unable to contact server <A HREF=" TARGET="_new"> during creation of a new project and "unable to open the project, check frontpage server extensions" not exactly the same but something similar to this in case of opening a project). I am neither able to create a new project nor open an existing project without reinstalling server extensions.
How can i resolve this problem?.

This is a problem.

Are you using IIS or PWS ?

On the surface it sounds like a permissions issue; that is, 'Dont Save Settings on Exit' is checked in the System Policies setup. Be sure you have rights to install stuff. This right can be denied in the system policies settings.
The installation process will progress as normal but nothing
gets saved to the registry after you shut down the machine !

Typically, "cannot contact server", means that the web server is not running. Missing (or corrupt) server extensions are another matter.
Amiel
amielzz@netscape.net

Amiel,
Thank you. I am using IIS and i am sure that the web server is up and running, because i am able to access other files. I have the administrator privileges on the system.

maybe your http port 80 on FrontPage PWS is conflicting with your IIS settings. Are you using FrontPage as your editor for ASP/HTML. Do you have FrontPage PWS running? If you do then you have to see the configuration of your PWS port. Because you have a development web server and a production web server on the same PC, it will complain that it can't find one or the other server.
