unable to connect to as/400 database

Hi,

I'm using vb.net with an as/400 db and a oledb connection. But each time I get the error "Unable to connect to database. It is only possible to connect to SQL Server Desktop Engine databases and Microsoft Access databases with this version of visual Studio." I'm using .net framework version 1.0.3705 and development environment version 7.0.9466
Does anyone know how I can solve this problem. I have no problem connecting to an Access DB... like the error says!

Are you using the OleDb provider, or the SqlClient provider?

You might also want to check the IBM Alphaworks site to see if they have written a provider for .NET
