Hello,

We have ACRSERVE 6.6.1 Workgroup edition. On Windows NT4 with SP6a. I can backup all files/directory's etc from the server the software is installed (MY COMPUTER) but not from another server on the network. Im using the administrators username and password to access these servers, but it is still giving me the following error.

Note connect to \\edicomp\c$ as administrator
E3201 Unable to connect to network drive (drive=\\edicomp\c$ , EC=logon failure)

When selecting source I go to Network > Microsoft Windows Network > Domain > Server/Computer > Files/directories etc.

Ive done it by the book and it still not working.

Regards

Phil

When drilling down through network neighborhood, domain etc, do you go al the way down into the files. If you go all the way down into the files(past the D$ share) there should be no reason why you cannot backup the files. Please make sure you can drill ALL the way down.

Yes I can drill all the way down to a file contained on another computer/server. But when the job is running it cannot connect. I am baffled.

PRiley,

The workgroup edition will NOT allow you to backup another server. Only the Advanced Edition and Enterprise Edition support this option. However you can get around this if you map a drive on the Arcserve Server to the server you wish to backup. Then choose to backup the mapped drive and it will treat it as though it is a local drive.
