I have a client with a PPTP VPN server running in their central office. They have 2 client pcs in the satellite office but they can only connect one at a time to the vpn. If they try to connect 2 authentication fails.

Using Netgear router with vpn passthrough at the client side and standard Windows XP VPN client. Ip ranges of client and serve sides are different.

Any ideas? Does Windows VPN need to authenticate with a public IP?

Thanks!

Sounds like you need to enable NAT-T (traversal). Due to the way NAT works with IP's and packets you're going to need a method (NAT-T) to allow for the VPN Peer Device to differentiate between connecting clients.
