'UNABLE TO CONNECT' ERROR

I am running VB6 with CR7 using DAO 3.6 (Access 2000). On some machines running my app on Win98 and win2K I get:

seagate crystal reports:
database error
error opening file
file could not be opened: "HSTABLE" at file location "HSTABLE"
run-time error '20535'unable to connect: incorrect session
parameters

whenever printing is attempted. Other systems are running fine. If you can help in interpreting this message for me and perhaps suggesting a solution, I would be truly appreciative as I have run out of ideas.
