unable to configure odbc for oracle (config windows does not come up)

I installed the oracle 8i client on windows 98 and after the installation I rebooted the machine and when into the odbc admin windows to configure the oracle driver but the window would not come up. any idea or work-around for this?

edit the autoexec.bat file and remove all spaces from the path statment. reboot and it should work
