The ArcServe Backup Agent gives an error "Failed to get the information for the specific account, EC=1314" when entering the Microsoft exchange backup information for configuring the backup agent for exchange 2000. The user specified is member of Administrators, Domain Admins and backup operators group and not a member of Domain Users group.
Please suggest...

Thankyou all

I have seen some "fake" 1314 errors when configuring the agent. After receiving the error, choose the option that you do not want to retry the configuration and continue with the install. At the end you will receive a message that you will not be able to do brick level backups but will be able to do database level. Go into the ARCserve manager and try to expand the brick level. If it expands, configuration was actually fine and you will be able to back up. If not, make sure SP4 is applied (assuming ARCserve 2000). There will be a file exchuser.exe in the directory you installed the agent to. Run the program and you will be asked for a user name, mailbox alias and password. You will also need to supply the domain name. This will try to create the user and mailbox for you, which you can then try to authenticate.

I struggled through this one and the problem which i had was:

Outlook needed to be installed on the exchange server and a mail box profile present for the username which you trying to backup through. So, add that profile then hopefully you'll pass that stage :)
