Help! I've deleted some tables and loads of data from an Access 2003 database and the database has grown to 2gb in size!! the actual six of the database should be in the region of 5mb. The problem is now the database has stopped responding or gives me the error message "The visual Basic for Applications project in the database is corrupt". It won't let me compact the database (gives me the above error message). I've tried creating a blank database and importing the objects to it but i just get the same error message. I've tried to export the objects to the new database but it only lets me export tables, queries and macros but not the forms, reports and modules. I don't know what else to try any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Search microsoft.com for a util called JetComp - this fixes some corruptions that standard Access compact/repair doesn't, so it might be worht a try.

Thanks. I used JetComp as suggested, it enabled me to compact the database without opening it and reduce its size from 2 gb 400mb, unfortunatley i still can't use the forms and code modules due to the VBA corruption, i suppose i'll have to rebuild.

for info:
I've visited microsoft.com
"If the Visual Basic for Applications project is corrupted, forms, reports, and modules are affected by this corruption and cannot be restored."

Only tables, queries, macros can be recovered.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Access.
