OK, I've gotten my earlier problem all but fixed, AFAICT I only have one small problem left... (BTW, my particulars are BENT 8.5 running on an NT 4 SP 6a server trying to back up Exchange Server 5.5 also running on an NT 4 SP 6a server. Both are physically in the same room & in the same domain.)
When I looked at the mailboxes that were selected for backup, it appears to me that the list is rather old (I've just started this job, & I'm kind of "learning on the fly". When I try to change the selections (remove old mailboxes and/or enable backup of unselected mailboxes), Veritas simply ignores anything I try to do. The mailboxes are grayed out, & nothing I've tried seems to change that.
I can see the exchange information store, directory store, and mailbox icons, and browse to the different subdirectories. The BENT Service Account is a member of the Domain Admins group and has Service Account Admin permissions for the entire site.
I can send mail to & from the SAA account, and see no reason why I shouldn't be able to administer the mailboxes. I've even renamed the BEWINUI.UNI file so that it forced me to re-enter all of the login/authentication information - it connected just fine.
Help...?
Many thanks.
