Hello, yesterday I had to re-install windows XP on a computer that was full of mal-ware and spyware. Everything went fine, but then after everything was installed and the computer booted up, I got a message that said the monitor was set at very low resolution. When I went into display properties to change it, it was set on 600X480 and it would not allow me to change it. It has monitor type as default monitor. also when I go into advanced it will not let me click on the monitor properties button. Any ideas? thanks!

After a clean install of Windows you should have first loaded the motherboard chipset drivers, then drivers for network/SATA/onboard sound etc then "the graphics drivers"

It sounds like it is these (graphics drivers) that are missing.

If integrated (onboard graphics) they should be on the supplied mainboard driver disk, if on the other hand you have a seperate AGP graphics card, it also should have it's own driver disk.

If this driver is missing they should be available to download from the card manufactures website (or chipset manufactures website)

Thanks Martin, This was my aunt's computer and when I had gone back today she had found the resource disk with the drivers and I got them all installed and everything is working fine now. Thanks!
