I'm opening an impromptu report on my computer (Impadmin v 7.1.339.0 on Win2K) and the catalog logon window is coming up. The user class selected is 'Creator' (the password box is empty and greyed out), and the 'Connect to the database' option is selected by default (and the userid and password boxes are populated but greyed out).

I click OK (without changing the settings) and im getting an error message saying "Your logon was incorrect. You entered an invalid user-id and / or an invalid password"

The only thing I can do is click cancel, so I can't open my report.

The same thing happens when I use my own account, or the administrator account (I have root user class / administrator / creator priviledges anyway).

What do I need to be able to do to connect to the catalog properly?

J,

Try unchecking the "Connect to the database" checkbox while just opening the catalog (no report). If that works, then you have had a password change on the database ID used to connect to the database. Check with your DBA (unless you ARE the DBA [lol]) and see if someone has made the change without telling Impromtpu users about it. Once you know the new password you can change it in the catalog before reconnecting to the database.

Hope this helps.
