I was trying to download the Microsoft patch (without the shutdown -a command) when the NT Authority shutdown window popped up. The system was shutdown and now will not boot at all. I have tried normal and all safe mode options. After selecting a Safe Mode (tried em all) the computer reads several files from the system32 directory and freezes up.

PLEASE HELP !!!!!

Sounds like some corrupt files. Do you have a restore/rescue disk?
