Hello Everyone,

Not sure if this is Adobe issue, but I have a user who is unable to attache some PDF files from one of the network folders to Outlook 2003.When you navigate to the PDF file and click insert, nothing happens in Outlook, it does not show up.The strange thing is that it happens with only a few files. This is the error message:

"Can't create file...filename.pdf. Right click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder"

This is not a permission issue as the user can attach other files in the network folder.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried starting at the pdf file, right clicking the file, and doing send to/mail recipient?

Yes, I have tried that as well, and the pdf did not attach.

Hi,
Have you tried just clicking and dragging the file from Windows Explorer into the email?

Best,

There is a limit to the number of files of the same name you can have in Outlook Secure Temp folder. Clean it out:

1. Open REGEDIT.EXE and go to Edit -> Find... In the Find dialog box type "OutlookSecureTempFolder" without the quotes and locate that registry key.

2. That key will contain the actual folder location, and will look like:

C:\Documents and Settings\%USER_NAME%\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\OLK#\ (where # is a random letter or number)

3. Copy the location of that folder.

4. Click on Start -> Run... and paste the folder location from step #4 then click OK.

5. Windows Explorer will open that folder. Please, delete all files present.

6. Restart Microsoft Outlook and you should be able to open your attachments.

Sorry guys, I have not been back in a few days, but what I did to solve the problem was had the user recreate the file . The file being converted to pdf is from a program called Navision. I had him save it directly to his desktop instead of the network folder, and it worked.
I will definitely take note of the suggestions posted here and give it a shot should the same issue comes up again.

Thanks!
