I just reloaded Veritas 8.5 Backup Exec on my Exchange2K server. I setup a job to run and it completed successfully. However, I ran the job again an hour later to make sure it is still working and I got the following error in the log. Any suggestions?

Does the backup exec service account have permissions for the Exchange mailboxes container?

Yes. I was able to make one full backup without errors, Mailboxes too. Cannot run a second job however. This is happening on all 4 of my servers. I'm doing something wrong... thanks

Talked with Veritas Support today. There tech said that the back up account that creates the backup job is the only one that can change and run the job. I was tring to use my back up admin account to run the job. I'm still a little confused, but it's working.

The service account where run backup services, need to have an exchange mailboxe.
You have to verify the link between the NT account and the exchange mailboxe still exist and is valid.

I had the same error, they have a service patch for Backup Exec on the Veritas website which resolved my problem. I had this problem intermittantly and since I've patched it, it hasn't happened again
