Unable to append to tape

All my append to tape jobs are failing as there is no available or nearline appendable media

my media sets are set to 0 hours overwrite protect and allow append

i have erased a tape and run a overwrite job first before trying to append to tape still fails

there is around 80 gb left on the tape and the job is only 20 gb

Help please

You can append to a tape that has just been erases since there is not data on it and its not appendable

This happening on all tapes? What error does it give? No available media?

Simple one first, you have put the tape you erased and then did an overright job to back in the correct media set? If the job is only set to append and the tape isn't in the right media set it still won't use it.
