This solution is for Livelink Explorer professional 4.7.x and Outlook 2007.
(the older thread thread862-1164686 is for 4.5.
The problem we had was:
The livelink menu in Outlook 2007 was availble and worked. Only browsing through the livelink folders within Outlook was not available.
The possible cause is that MsOffice was installed after The Livelink Explorer Professional.
It was not possible to add the Mapi client via the control panel in Outlook, because the Mapi was just not available in the list.
In the file MAPISV.inf we added the following:
[Livelink]
PR_SERVICE_DLL_NAME=LLOutlook.dll
PR_SERVICE_ENTRY_NAME=MsgStore_ServiceEntry
PR_SERVICE_SUPPORT_FILES=LLOutlook.dll
PR_SERVICE_DELETE_FILES=LLOutlook.dll
PR_RESOURCE_FLAGS=SERVICE_NO_PRIMARY_IDENTITY
Providers=Livelink_Provider
and under
[services]
the following:
Livelink=Livelink MAPI Service
Then we saved MAPISV.inf to:
C:\Windows.old\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1043
(we have a Dutch(1043) version. If you have an English version the '1043' will be '1033')
make sure there is also 'MSMAPI32.DLL' in the above directory.
Now restart Outlook, and the MAPI service should be available in the list when you add a "file storage" location under the 'account setting' window in Outlook.
Something we still don't understand is that in the above additions to MAPISV.inf there are settings for 'LLoutlook.dll', while this file isn't available on the Windows client. There is a file 'LLoutlook32.dll' in 'C:\Program Files\Open Text\Livelink Explorer' but...
Maybe someone knows!?
