Unable to access FTP sites since formatting HD and reinstalling all.

Can anyone please help? I can no longer access ftp sites and even some websites since reinstalling all my software.
It may be a network setting but I can't find it.

are you running a proxy? (winproxy, etc any connection sharing software)

if so, then you wil likely need to establish a ftp port in the settings of that s/w something like port 21 [sig][/sig]
