Unable to access a pc by host name anymore

Hello,

I have a Win 98 PC at my work setup as a file server... it has worked fine for well over a year... this morning I can no longer access it by its host name '\\AURORA01'

The only way I can accses it is by its ip address '\\10.180.x.x'

Any suggestions? I have seen this before and it has always driven me crazy because it seems to reslolve itself over time... but I cant wait on this one

I did all the basics, restarted, released IP, renewed etc...

check the address entry on the DNS server

To access it by Netbios name, you should check the entry for it on the WINS server and ensure its correct.

How is the rest of the network setup? Can you check the regular servers for error messages?
